m-flo의 2003년도 발표곡 'miss you'는 신기할 정도로 한국에서도 널리 히트했던 추억의 일본 노래입니다. 아마 X-JAPAN 이후로 이 정도 알려졌던 곡은 없지 않을까 싶을 정도로요. 정말 어느날 한국에서 이 노래가 이상할 정도로 알려져 있길래 대체 무슨 일인가 싶었던 기억이 있습니다. 마찬가지로 나중에 또 신기할 정도로 알려졌던 곡이 나카시마 미카가 참여했던 DAISHI DANCE의 'Memory'였죠. 2009년도의 곡입니다. 개인적으로 힙합이나 랩 계열 노래를 찾아 듣진 않기에 m-flo에 대해 잘 모릅니다만, 이 곡은 유명했고 무엇보다 태진 노래방에 일찍부터 들어왔기 때문에 다들 열심히 불렀던 곡이었죠. 3명이 부르는 돌림노래라서 둘이 부르기도 아주 쉽지는 않았던 기억이 납니다. 음... 제가 일부러 얼굴에 스티커를 붙인 건 아닙니다(...) 포장 비닐 위이기도 하고요. 참고로 m-flo는 인디에서 활동하다가 1999년 메이저 데뷔를 한 그룹으로, ☆Taku(DJ)와 VERBAL(MC)와 보컬 한 명으로 이루어진 3인조 그룹입니다. 단지 miss you를 부를 당시엔 초대 보컬이 탈퇴한 상태였고, 피쳐링으로 보컬인 melody.와 남자 래퍼로 마츠모토 료헤이(山本領平)가 참여했죠. 노래 가사에 나오는 '타카하시 타쿠'와 '버벌(Verbal)'이란 두 이름은 m-flo의 두 남자 멤버입니다. 또한 노래가 끝나고 마지막에 '멜로디'와 '료헤이'를 언급하는 건 피쳐링 멤버를 마지막으로 다시 소개하는 것으로 보이네요. 노래 가사에 도중에 '2013'이란 연도를 읽는 부분이 나오는데요. 료헤이는 이걸 '니센투사앙 이어즈years'라고 읽습니다. 2013은 일본어로 원래 '니센쥬우사앙'이라고 읽는데요. 여기선 '10'을 '투'라고 읽고 있는데, 제 예상으론 10을 일본어로 토오(とお)라고도 읽기 때문에, 10을 아마 to라고 읽은 게 아닐까 싶습니다. 혹시 정확히 아시는 분은 제보 부탁드립니다. 또한 가사 중에서 '바라다'라는 단어를 '바래'라는 비표준어로 굳이 표기했습니다. 표준 표기는 '바라'지만, 거친 구어체의 가사이기에 틀리지만 많이 쓰는 편한 표현을 선택했네요. 하나 더.
